Colleen Mavis Hill - Portfolio - About

Hey, been trying to meet you.

My name is Colleen Hill, I am Ann Arbor native who moved to Detroit in the Fall of 2003 to attend the College for Creative Studies. Since graduating from CCS in May of 2007, I participated in De Program, a three-week long intensive graduate course in the Netherlands, studying with Lust and NLXL. I've worked at a small five person design studio, in-house at Washtenaw Community College as a web designer and now am currently employed as an art director at MRM Worldwide.

I'm the president for the AIGA Detroit chapter. I also served as the programming director for two years organizing events and competitions such as the 2010 Celebrate Michigan Design lecture, the Wish You Were Here postcard competition, screenings of design related films, lectures, and many others. One of my favorite experiences volunteering with AIGA Detroit was having the pleasure to meet one of my favorite designers, the lovely Cheryl Towler Weese, and discovering that I'm in fact taller than her, though only by an inch (a rare discovery).

I can be reached via Email at: colleen@jetless.org

Outside of graphic design I like:

  • Watching the Daily Show, Arrested Development, and The Wire.
  • Cooking vegetarian fare.
  • Sipping Belgian beer.
  • Organizing and color coding things.
  • Listening to This American Life, Radiolab, and The Moth podcats.
  • All things Eames.
  • Spending time with my two cats.
